Yes — this is the thing we plan around before anything else. We build every itinerary backwards from your all-aboard time and hold back a full hour of buffer on top. Use the Port Time Planner on our tours page to see exactly which tours fit your day. If a tour is too long for your window, we will tell you rather than sell it to you.

Cruise lines guarantee they will wait for their own excursions. Independent operators cannot promise that, which is exactly why we build in an hour of buffer and finish well before all-aboard. Roatán is a small island — nowhere we go is more than about 45 minutes from either port. Millions of passengers book independently here every year without issue.

You pay your guide on the day of the tour. There is no deposit and nothing is charged when you send a booking request. We accept US dollars and Honduran lempira in cash, and card payment on most tours — tell us in advance if you plan to pay by card.

You owe us nothing. Weather and mechanical delays are part of cruising and completely outside your control — if your ship arrives late we will adjust the plan, and if it does not call at Roatán at all, your booking is canceled with no charge. Just message us when you know.

Roatán has two cruise terminals. Mahogany Bay Cruise Center mostly serves Carnival-group ships, and the Port of Roatán in Coxen Hole serves Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and others. Your cruise documents will say which one. They are about ten minutes apart and we meet guests at both.

Yes to both, though it depends on the tour. Beach, glass bottom boat, iguana farm and island culture tours suit almost everyone. Zip lining and ATV tours have age and weight limits. Tell us the ages in your group and any mobility needs in your booking request and we will steer you to the right option — or build a private tour around it.

No. Every snorkeller wears a flotation vest and our in-water guides stay with nervous swimmers throughout. Plenty of guests snorkel with us having never done it before. If you would rather not get in at all, the glass bottom boat tour shows you the same reef from a dry seat.

Reef-safe sunscreen (please — regular sunscreen damages the coral), a towel, a hat, your swimsuit worn under your clothes, and cash for lunch and tips. Closed-toe shoes are required for zip lining and ATV tours. Each tour page lists exactly what to bring.

The tourist areas of Roatán — West Bay, West End, Sandy Bay and both cruise ports — are well traveled and generally trouble-free, and you will be with a local guide the whole time. Use the same common sense you would anywhere: keep valuables on the ship or in the hotel safe, and don't carry more cash than you need for the day.

English and Spanish. English is widely spoken across the Bay Islands — it is the first language of much of the island — so you will have no trouble communicating with our guides.
